I Love You…now feed me!

I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day.  I think it’s a ridiculous holiday.  (More on that soon.)  What I really don’t understand about this holiday of love is how we celebrate it.  Most people go out to eat and to the movies.  I love to go out to eat.  And I love going to the movies.  But not on Valentine’s Day…have you ever seen the crowds out that night??  Is it my claustrophobia setting in again, or are there really a billion people at The Olive Garden?

But I saw the perfect solution for those of us who hate crowds, but still want to go out to eat on this dreaded holiday: Zaxby’s.

Zaxby’s is probably Marshall’s favorite restaurant, and it’s one of the few eateries in our little town.  Our local store is offering  a pretty hilarious (and yet still awesome) deal tomorrow night:  Candlelight dinner for 2 only $15.  That’s right: candles at Zaxby’s.  You may laugh(I did!), but Marshall sure would love to go…and I’ll bet it’ll be less crowded than all those “fancy” restaurants in town.

I wonder if they’ll have cloth napkins?

Pretty in Pink

I’m not really a girly-girl, although I do love a good romantic comedy.  And “chick lit”.  But I don’t like pink.  Lydia is trying her darndest to break me in.  Everything is pink, pink, pink.  Pink room.  Pink curtains.  Pink bedspread.  Pink bows.  Pink shirts.  Pink dresses.  Pink shoes.  See a theme here?

This morning I braided her hair(not an easy feat, I might add), and she asked me to take some pictures of her.  So…off to the land of pink we went and here’s what we got.  Hope you think she’s as adorable as I do!  🙂

Singing Secrets

On this blog, I’ve mentioned in passing how much I love to karaoke.  Marshall does not share my passion.  We don’t ever go out to karaoke, so I bought my own karaoke machine for home.  And I do it…alone.  All the time.  (I feel a little better about acknowledging this because I recently found out that my cousin does this, too.  So does Penelope Cruz…she admitted it on “Ellen”.)

Apparently my love of the microphone is genetic:

Wee-wee and Woo-woo

I don’t know how many of you are big fans of “Elmo’s Potty Time“, but we’ve watched it a bazillion times at our house.  In the movie there is a section where kids are all telling the various words they use for “pee” and “poop”.  Things like “piddle” and “doo-doo”(my least favorite!).  One girl says “I call it wee-wee and woo-woo”.

Lydia, dear sweet Lydia, has now decided that these are the greatest words in the world…and has named her two dolls “Wee-wee” and “Woo-woo”.  Great…dolls named after body fluids.  Maybe I should suggest those to Brad and Angelina for the next set of twins they will inevitably have.  They sound like good, crazy child-of-an-actor names.

I love Jesus but I drink a little.

You guys may have already seen this. It’s kind of long, but it’s really funny!  There are lots of funny parts, but the best is about 4 mins in.

Close, but not quite.

Lately our kids have really gotten into “Handy Manny” on Playhouse Disney.  (Yes, it really bothers me that Handy and Manny don’t rhyme.  Could they not have made it Handy MANDY?  Girls can be handy!)

There is a girl on the show named Kelly.  She owns the hardware store, and she always has what Manny and the tools need to fix whatever’s broken.  Carter was singing one of the songs to Lydia and instead of saying “Kelly’s Hardware Store”, he was saying “Kelly’s hard to snore”.  HA!
