Birthday Comment Cake

This is the same post I put up for mah birfday last year, slightly edited to fit the special occasion: I’m turning 30!!!

Confession: I LOVE birthdays.
Not just mine, but anybody’s really. I love gifts-buying and getting. I love cake and ice cream(if it’s good cake with cream cheese icing and homemade strawberry ice cream). I love hearing people who don’t usually sing sing “Happy Birthday” at the top of their lungs. I love the fact that every person gets a day to celebrate all on their own(unless you’re a multiple, I guess…but that’s different…multiples have some kind of bond so they don’t mind sharing birthdays, right??).

So…back to the point: MY birthday.  I turn THIRTY today!  Yay for me!  I know people say at some point birthdays become not a big deal, or that you don’t want them to come or whatever.  I hope I’m never like that.  I want to always love my birthday, or as I like to refer to it: Queen Bridget Day.  Seriously, that’s how I have it written in my calendar.

Several folks have asked me what I want for my birthday.  And while I love to get stuff, I saw a great idea at  The Spohrs Are Multiplying that she stole from her friend Casey.  Since most of you are not able to sing “Happy Birthday” to me in person or make me or cake or at least buy me some cake from my favorite cake place in the world, The Boll Weevil, I thought it would be fun to have a “comment cake”.  That’s right!  All you have to do to make me happy is leave me one little comment.  But this isn’t all about me, you know?  I also want to hear something exciting about you.  Tell me what makes you happy.  Or a funny joke(corny jokes eagerly accepted).  Or something great that’s going on in your life.

Happy Birthday to me.  Happy Birthday to me.  Happy Birthday Queen Bridget.  Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I also LOVE birthdays. People make fun of me because I celebrate my birthday *month*. Seriously, March is all. about. me. I’ve been known (but only to myself) to be disappointed if I don’t hear “Happy Birthday Month on March 1st. Silly, I know.

Anyway, I know you’ve had a great weekend so far, and I hope it continues. You deserve the best! Hope you’re 30th year is your best yet – may you be surrounded by much love.

Here’s a Happy Birthday for your comment cake! If you do get one of those cakes w/ the cream cheese frosting, bring it over and share! I do want to say that I’m so glad to have “reconnected” with you on FB. It’s so good to know what’s going on in your life. I have always thought of you as such a beautiful person, and I’m glad to see that you have been so blessed in life. Love ya, girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Just out of curiosity, am I one of those off-key people who sings Happy Birthday to you but you love to hear it anyway!! I hope so. . . I mean, kind of 🙂 I LOVE you very much and I hope you have a FANTASTIC day– you deserve all the best. Take a long bath, have a lovely meal (or two or three or four), and thirds or fourths on cake and ice cream. love you!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love birthdays, too. My neighbors think I’m nuts because I decorate with balloons and streamers; have cake and ice cream, a special meal chosen just for that day and presents. And I love doing it for my hubby and my kids, too. But that’s extra awesome, because it means I get to do it 6 times a year. Sometimes, I even decorate and bake and wrap for my parents, too!

(ps: You don’t know me. I followed a link here from twitter, but I don’t remember who posted it, because I click on a bunch of links and then look at them all at once. You’d think I’d learn, but I’m too much of a dork for that.)

Happy Birthday Bridget! I hope your birthday is filled with happiness. I LOVE my birthday too 🙂 It is 5 days before Christmas so I have to make a HUGE deal about it or it comes and goes without anyone noticing. I actually celebrate my birthday twice a day… Every time I see the clock read 12:20 I say it’s my birthday! Kevin gets annoyed but he will play along to make me happy and he says Happy Clock Day! LMAO My daughters 9th birthday is tomorrow… wow time flies.

Happy Birthday to you! I will always have fond memories of us as children growing up in the church, and of all the fun we had in Ga’s and especially at Camp Pinnacle. You have a beautiful family, and you are such a wonderful young lady.

I hope today is everything you have wanted it to be and more.

Happy Birthday!! Many happy returns and all that jazz. 🙂

I love birthdays, too. I love everything about them and I’m so glad they’re celebrated so completely in my family! You’re actually quite lucky that you can’t hear me singing you the birthday song, but I’ll hum it for you!

Happy birthday, Queen Bridget! I already wrote on your fb, but it seems you’re trying to get posts here, too, so I thought I’d help you out. Besides, it’s always nice to hear “happy birthday” a lot on your birthday! BTW, the thing is in tomorrow’s mail…let me know if you don’t get it soon.

I like birthdays too, just not mine. I think it’s cool that other people love their birthday. So, happy birthday!!!! And I know this will make you smile because you love your day of birth as much as children do and that is perfectly okay and awesome!!!!!!!!

    A birthday poem:

Oh, Queen Bridget, strong and true
Today we sing happy birthday to you!
It is a day to celebrate your thirty years
A day filled with happiness and cheers!!!
yahoooooooo!!!! (that’s a cheer, not an email address)

    back to the poem…

Queen Bridget reigns on the 28th of June
From the rising of the sun to the appearance of the moon
It is a day to celebrate Bridget’s wonderful life
A day without sadness, tears, or strife.
All gather round for Queen Bridget’s Day
And open our mouths and hearts and say…
