Busted

The kids were playing in the yard with two big bottles of bubbles.  Each child had a bottle and each bottle was a baby.  Lydia was putting her baby to bed and she kissed the bottle and said: “Night-night, baby.  I love you. {long pause} Oh baby, I can’t lay down with you right now.  I have to go potty.  I’ll be back in just a little while to check on you.”

Apparently I use the potty excuse a little too often.  Hmm…what new excuse can I use?   Help a girl out…I can’t stay in her room all night long every night!

“Mommy has to go clean the kitchen. I’ll come back as soon as I’m done.” “Mommy has to go do some laundry.” “Mommy needs some grown up time now.” Not that I would ever use any of these. 🙂

Set the dryer timer a few mins before you’d like to make your exit. When it goes off tell her you have to go fold the clothes before they get all wrinkly b/c that would require ironing. YUCK! I did a fun little questionnaire with Drew not too long ago. He answered “What is Mommy’s favorite thing to do?” with “play with me and fold clothes.” Then…”what is Mommy’s job?” to which he replied “she folds clothes.” I guess I need to start going potty & stop folding clothes so much!
