Just a few photos

I feel like it’s been ages since I put pictures up.  It’s been ages since we’ve done a photo shoot.  Shame on me.  But I found a cool spot at the college, so we’re going to go this week.  I promise!

Until then you can take a peek at our cute Southern belle in her great big hat, the kids asleep with Emmie’s head completely covered up, and my brother teaching the kids how to play softball.

Who do the poo?

Tucker!  In the potty!!  Last night he snuck away into the bathroom completely by himself.  I heard him playing with Emmie’s little singing potty, but I figured he was just playing with it(like he often does).  Then he yells, “I pooped!”.  I ran in there, expecting to have to clean yet another pair of dirty underwear…but nope.  There he was grinning proudly on Em’s potty.  He did it!  He got his Lightening McQueen remote control car he picked out.  He got ice cream.  You’d have thought he’d won the world series or something by the way we were all cheering!  It’s ridiculous, I know, but I even teared up!  This has been a long time in the works, my dear friends.  It’s no longer just a big deal-it’s a major event!

So for those of you who don’t have kids, and/or just don’t understand why all parental conversations tend to come back around to poop, I do have a non-poop related picture of him sleeping with his new Lightening McQueen car.

I’ve never seen him so excited about a toy.  And I have a video clip of him playing with it on my new Flip Video (which I love!). I’ll add it, too, if I can figure out how to move it from my computer(which is not connected to the internet) to my dad’s computer(which is!).

I think I’ve got it, although there seems to be a problem with the volume.

I had to turn mine all the way up to hear it.  Sorry!

Am I a bad parent or is he a bad child?

Ok…my phone is MIA.  Gone.  We’ve trying calling it, texting it, paging it.  We’ve searched high and low.  It’s no where to be found.  After an hour or so of searching, Tucker tells me that he threw it in the brown trashcan.  He was mad at me, and he decided to throw it away!  Bad child, right?

Here’s where the bad parent thing comes in.  He was mad at me because I wouldn’t let him wear underwear.  He’d been passing loads of gas and holding his butt-a surefire sign that he is about to poop.  And I told him he had to poop in the potty, not his underwear.  So I took his underwear off.  And he got mad.  And he threw my stinkin’ phone away!

The worst part of it all is that we took the trash to the dump before I realized it was missing.  So…my phone will probably be compacted first thing tomorrow morning!  Yikes!  So…off to the phone store to get a new phone.  If I had your number in my phone before, please please please email me your number again!!

We're still here.

Sorry to all my faithful readers(all 7 of you!).  It’s been over a week since I last blogged, but it’s been a busy one.  Marshall finished residency.  We packed up what we could and drove down to my parents house.  (We’re living with them for 3 months until our house is ready.)  We didn’t get all of our stuff in one trip, so we had to go back yesterday to get some more stuff and bring it here to store in my dad’s workshop.  But now we’re done.  We’ll go back occasionally to check on things and do a little cleaning.  But hopefully it will sell soon.  It’d be nice to only have one house payment at a time!  If we could just get it sold before October, that’d be great!

Anyway, living with my parents has been going pretty well so far.  The kids love it!  They think we’re on vacation.  It’s nice to have extra hands around to help.  It’s also been nice to have Marshall around a lot more, too!  It’s so good to be done with residency!!  We had a good “vacation” week.  We didn’t go anywhere, but just enjoyed some down time.

But he starts his new job tomorrow.  Kind of crazy, huh?  But he has a nice, new office with a nice, new desk.  Nothing else, but that’s a start, right?   We’ve ordered a bookshelf and filing drawers.  We’re working on getting a laptop for him.  He and the senior partner at work are going to talk this week about “going digital” at the office.  They have very limited computer use there; they actually still use a paper appointment book to schedule visits!  So hopefully they can gradually get up-to-date!

But the kids and I will be hanging around here, trying not to destroy my parent’s house.   I’m sure we’ll try to swim a little, and go to the library, and maybe even eat lunch with Daddy every now and then!  I’m really hoping to do some fun art stuff with them, too.  Maybe I’ll actually remember to take pictures this time!  I have virtually no pictures from the past week because my camera was still packed up.  But it’s back out and we’ll be out searching for new fun places to have “photo shoots”!  Keep your eyes out for some new pictures soon…

One last thing: If you thought sharing a computer with 2 people was hard, try sharing with 5!  Hopefully I’ll be able to get some blogging done during the day while everyone else is at work.  Keep coming back…I’ll be back to my usual ramblings soon!
