More Than I Imagined

I thought I was ready for school to start.
I have been frustrated with the kids.
They have been frustrated with me.
We have spent way too much time inside.
(But it’s just so dang hot!)

But as I watched the “Back to School” pictures post on Facebook,
I found myself thinking, “I’m glad that’s not us today.”

I wasn’t expecting to wish for more summer.
The days are long and exhausting.
I am frequently tired and overwhelmed.
(Even more so than usual.)

But we’ve had so much fun,
Made so many great memories.

Snuggled this little cutie.

Visited the wildlife rescue center.

Celebrated Gaga’s life

Did a lot of swimmin’!

Washed the car (and each other).

Celebrated our country.

Rode the waves.

Had lots of bedtime giggles at the beach.

Hit the lanes.

Played scientist.

Gave big googly eyes while painting.

And so much more…

So…so long, summer.
You were more than I imagined you would be.

(Also?  I am not excited about having to set an alarm clock for the first time in months.  Ugh.)

Please. You’re an excellent photographer. Then AND now! And I’m with you. I was sad to send them back to school. I kept thinking to myself, we’re halfway with Payton. Only six more summers and he’s off to college. Soak it up.
    Love you!!!

Beautiful pictures, what memories you are capturing. We have three more weeks of ummer, and start back on 8/29. Although, I home school, I am gong to miss the the lazy, unscheduled days of summer. It went by way too fast.

What a fun summer it was! I’m excited for the kids to go back to school, but like you I do still wish for more summer. I can’t wait to see Rhett in his new classroom, and to hear how big he is each day. I’m also excited to hear about all of Peyton’s adventures in Middle School, and all the new things Wyatt will learn in the 3rd grade.
Goodbye summer! Thank you for making way for the next big break Christmas vacation, and cooler weather!

I hope you truly enjoy the rest of your summer! Enjoy these sweet memories. It seems they come and go way too fast! My house is quiet and I only have one more year of getting someone off to school and I really, really miss those days!!

Your pictures are beautiful and show such fun times and memories!!

Great pictures showing so much of an awesome summer – but did tear up at the celebrating Gagas life, seeing son and grandsonwith her – what were they looking at? Do you remember? (possibly the newest addition?)
